Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14th in 1980) is an American actress, singer as well as a dancer. Her first performances on Broadway included in Musicals Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. in You Can't Take It With You in which she was awarded the Tony Award as Best Featured actor in the Play. Annaleigh Ashley is a Tony Award winning actor and actress, has worked with actors and directors on stage and screen for the entirety of her professional career. Ashford's upcoming project is a limited-edition Hulu show called Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show premieres on November 22, and Ashford stars opposite Kumail Najiani. Ashford is currently engaged in the production of Searchlight Pictures' horror film Dust which stars Sarah Paulson alongside Ebon and Moss Bachrach. This film is part of a Hulu Original and will be streamed on Disney DTC. Ashford will return to Broadway in March 2023, in which he'll be starring alongside Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production is in the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail (director) and Jeffrey Seller (producer), the same team who brought us Hamilton directed the musical. Ashford most recently starred Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment which is based on the crisis in America that picked up Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters as the nation's first impeachment hearings in over one century. Her two-season stint on the CBS show B Positive was her first significant character. She also appeared in the cult series, created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, that starred legendary actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. A veteran of Broadway Ashford has been awarded both the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her role as Essie. Her additional Broadway roles include Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and her first role as Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots a performance for which she was awarded a second Tony Award nomination. Ashford is an Denver resident who splits his time between Los Angeles.
